Ms. Miriam Mutizwa on Strive Masiyiwa myth and reality

On 2 January 2019, Mr. Tichatonga Mutyambizi aka Mwanawevhu posted his facebook wall a conversation between him and Mr. Tawanda Nyambirai, a prominent Zimbabwean lawyer and businessman who is closely linked to the Econet story, titled STRIVE MASIYIWA MYTH AND REALITY!, to try to clear the air on what Mr. Nyambirai regards as: “All the noise being generated around Econet shares is mere froth and fume. There is no substance to it.” I have followed from the terrace as allegations and counter allegations have been made regarding the facts surrounding…

Ms. Miriam Mutizwa on her take on the Great Sanctions Conversation

Ms. Miriam Mutizwa, a human rights activist, called yesterday to give her deposit on whether sanctions imposed primarily by the US government since 2001 should be removed or should remain as leverage to lift Zimbabwe out of its current political and economic mess. A dispute seems to be in existence between the US administration and the Zimbabwean government as to whether the conditions set out in the ZIDERA Act and its subsequent 2018 amendment have been met. President Mnangagwa has made a number of positive and encouraging pronouncements since assuming…

Putting the interests of Zimbabwe first by Miriam Mutizwa

Reflections of Ms. Miriam Mutizwa, an activist based in the UK on whether the interests of Zimbabwe are sufficiently shared to provide a glue that should unite this divided and polarized nation: “Today is the last day of the year of the Lord, 2018. As I look back at the events of the year, I saddened that Zimbabwe remains a divided and polarized nation. The elections have come and gone yet the contestation for public office positions remains alive as if no elections have taken place. I like many of…

Below is an open letter to Mr. Tsitsi Masiyiwa, a philanthropist in her own right and the wife of Mr. Strive Masiyiwa, the founder and Econet Wireless Private Limited, (Econet), written by Ms. Miriam Mutizwa, in response to the storm that has ensued following Ms. Masiyiwa’s tweet that she has since deleted on her worldview that some of the people calling for justice are not genuine as in her considered opinion that such campaigns are in truth and fact sponsored by nameless and faceless principals. “Having read Ms. Masiyiwa’s threat…

ED winds up 100 days in office – What is your rating?

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has appealed for patience as he winds up his first 100 days in office, saying “it takes more than 100 days to recover an economy”, so citizens should not lose hope at the slow pace of change.
